New Biometric Passports

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING EXPIRED BIOMETRIC PASSPORTS:

Citizens should apply for a new biometric passport months ahead of the expiration date, as we are not allowed to issue a Laissez Passer to replace the expired passport.

New biometric passports are issued solely by the Lebanese competent authorities in Lebanon. Applications to request a replacement of the expired biometric passports can be submitted at the Consular Section.

At the Consulate, complete in Arabic and English a serial application form for biometric passport replacement and enclose the following:

·            3 recent passport photos 1.9×1.4 inch with full face and white background.

·            Copy of your Lebanese id or ikhraj kayd issued within the last 10 years.

·            Current passport and a copy of its first 3 pages.

·            Parental consent is required for minors and applicants under 18. Both parents or legal guardians, should come in person to the Consular Section and affirm their consent to the application.

·            Fees:

• For adults $ 600 for 10 years (only money orders payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon are accepted).

• For minors $300.00 for 5 years (only money orders payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon are accepted).

The new passport will arrive from Lebanon in around 90 days from the time we receive your request. When the new passport arrives at the Consulate, the concerned person will be contacted to provide the old passport held for cancellation and to receive the new one either in person at the Consulate or ONLY via UPS self-addressed & prepaid envelope, at your own risk (sign this form), while noting that we only receive mail on working days and during working hours. Check our holiday and working hours schedule for more details. Kindly note that we don’t collect mail from the post office or the offices of any mailing service.

Via certified mail, if you can’t get to the Consulate, we can send you by regular mail a hard copy of the serial application form for biometric passport replacement as follows:

1. Send us via email complete contact information including full address and phone numbers in the US and in Lebanon, along with scanned copies of:

·            Lebanese id or ikhraj kayd issued within the last 10 years.

·            First 3 pages of current passport.

2. We will complete the serial application form on your behalf and send it to you via regular mail to be signed in front of a notary public.

3. Send us via certified mail, at your own risk, while noting that we only receive mail on working days and during working hours. Check our holiday and working hours schedule for more details. Kindly note that we don’t collect mail from the post office or the offices of any mailing service

·            The notarized serial application form

·            3 recent passport photos 1.9×1.4 inch with full face and white background.

·            Copy of your Lebanese id or ikhraj kayd issued within the last 10 years.

·            Copy of your current passport including its first 3 pages.

For expedited Service via DHL Courier express:

In order to facilitate and expedite the issuance of ordinary Lebanese passports, the General Directorate of General Security in Lebanon made an agreement with DHL to provide express mail delivery.

This service is optional and at the applicant’s own risk.

1. Enter your personal information.

2. Pay the shipping fees.

3. Print the documents.

4. Apply in person at the consular section or via certified mail and provide the following documents:

            a. Two copies of the policy sent via DHL (outbound) from the Consulate in New York to the Ministry of Foreign and Emigrants.

            b. Two copies of the policy sent via DHL (return) from the Ministry of Foreign and Emigrants to the consulate in New York.

            c. Applicant passport list.

            d. Receipt.
