First Time Applications for a Biometric Passport

This service is only applicable for people under 15 years old and over 60 years old.
At the Consulate
Complete and sign in person a serial application form for biometric passports. You should complete the application in full, Arabic and English sections, and enclose the following:
- New format Lebanese identification card (I.D. – tazkarat al hawiya) or individual ikhraj kayd, and a copy of the said document.
- Current passport and a copy of its first three pages.
- Three recent passport photos, taken within the past 3 months, with full face and white background.
- Copy of a US driver’s license, utility bill or bank statement for proof of address.
- Fees:
- For adults $600 for 10 years (only money orders payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon are accepted).
- For minors $300 for 5 years (only money orders payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon are accepted).
The new passport should arrive from Lebanon within 90 days from the time we receive your application. When it arrives at the Consulate, the concerned person will be contacted to provide the old passport for cancellation and to collect the new one. This should be either in person at the Consulate or via UPS self-addressed & prepaid envelope, at the applicant’s own risk and after signing and enclosing a shipping consent form (select the link to get the form).
In this regard, kindly note that we only receive mail on working days and during working hours and we don’t collect mail from the post office or the offices of any mailing service. Check our holiday and working hours schedule for details.
Optional expedited service via DHL Courier express
This service is optional and at the applicant’s own risk, to expedite the issuance and shipping of new passports.
Check the following website Fast Track DHL and take the following steps:
- Choose the needed service.
- Pay the shipping fees.
- Print and provide the Consulate with:
- Two copies of the shipping DHL service (roundtrip, outbound or return) between the Consulate in New York and the Ministry of Foreign and Emigrants in Beirut.
- One copy of the applicant’s passport list.
- One copy of the DHL receipt.

Via Certified Mail at Your Own Risk
Send us via email your complete contact information, including full address and phone numbers in the US and in Lebanon, along with scanned copies of the applicant’s:
- New format Lebanese identification card (I.D. – tazkarat al hawiya) or individual ikhraj kayd.
- First three pages of your current passport.
- US driver’s license, utility bill or bank statement for proof of address.
Upon receipt of your email, and on your behalf, we will partially complete a serial application form for biometric passports and send it to you via regular mail.
After receiving the said application:
- Sign it in front of a notary public.
- Sign a shipping consent form (select the link to get the form).
- Send to the Consulate the application and the form via UPS self-addressed & prepaid envelope, at your own risk, along with:
- Copy of your new format Lebanese identification card (I.D. – tazkarat al hawiya) or individual ikhraj kayd, and a copy of the said document.
