Powers of Attorney Not Drafted at the Consulate

All Powers of Attorney not drafted at the Consulate should:

1- Include the name, date and place of birth, address and telephone number of the person/s granting the Powers of Attorney.

2- For real estate and banking matters, should be signed in front of 2 independent witnesses (not relatives) whose names should figure on the power of attorney itself along with their place and date of birth, address and telephone numbers.

3- Be legalized by a notary public, then signed by the county clerk wherever required (New York State), and later authenticated by the Secretary of the State where the Powers of Attorney is drafted.

Legalization at the Consulate

Complete an information form(select the link to get the form) and enclose the following:

·         Power of Attorney legalized by a notary public, then signed by the county clerk wherever required (New York State), and later authenticated by the Secretary of the State where the Power of Attorney is drafted, and a copy of the said documents.

·         Valid passport, Lebanese identification card (I.D.), or family/individual ikhraj kayd issued within the last 10 years and a copy of the said document.

·         Fees:

  • General Powers of Attorney: $100.00 for each signature of the person/s granting the Powers of Attorney and for those whom she/he/they are representing (only money orders payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon are accepted).
  • Special Powers of Attorney: $50.00 for each signature of the person/s granting the Powers of Attorney and for those whom she/he/they are representing (only money orders payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon are accepted).
  • Certified self-addressed and stamped envelope for return (no return fees are accepted) if the documents are to be returned by mail, at your own risk, while noting that we only receive mail on working days and during working hours. Legalization via certified mail

Complete an information form (select the link to get the form) and enclose the following:

·         Power of Attorney legalized by a notary public, then signed by the county clerk wherever required (New York State), and later authenticated by the Secretary of the State where the Power of Attorney is drafted, and a copy of the said documents.

·          2 copies of a Valid passport, Lebanese identification card (I.D.), or family/individual ikhraj kayd issued within the last 10 years.
